Velkommen! This is the official homepage of the Norsewood Viking Festival.  This year it will be held on the 4th and 5th of February 2023.

Every year Vikings from around New Zealand and beyond assemble to convert Matthews Park into an authentic Viking village.

Try your hand at archery or axe throwing. See spinning and weaving.  Browse amazing traditional items made from wool and leather.  See the original Viking Fjord Horses and try out authentic Scandinavian food.

Vikings from around New Zealand and beyond are already making preparations for the 2023 festival.  You may begin setting up your camp as early as Wednesday the 1st of February.  

There will be a Viking Wedding held on Saturday the 4th at 3pm in the Viking Village.
